Indie Moon was founded in Paris by two singers, husband and wife, who initially wanted to
form a band based on the concept of covering " B-sides" songs, revisited hits and some unknown tracks.
They are now working on their own compositions.
Their revamped look evokes a world of television series and cheekiness from the 80’s.
"We wanted to create our own musical universe and to look towards pop and new wave without denying our skill and expertise as able lyrical singers". Moreover, it is about creating a visual universe by calling upon image specialists actively involved in the band’s development by their suggestions and creations.
« Indie » takes its origin from the English independent labels Indie movement and implicitly shows this atypical band’s approach : eclecticism, numerous influences and total musical open-mindedness.
« Moon » evokes the night, femininity and poetry while its curvy typography reminds one of the fullness of the moon.
Their first single "Hiding memories from the sun", went out on April 14th and has been played on a french national radio, RCF.
The EP "Redress" has been released on May 23rd 2017. and has been very positively received by specialized webzines.
It is a pure synth-pop album, devoted to covers, with a strong eighties flavour but a modern and punchy sound thanks to the awesome work of the two Grammy priced engineers Ken Lewis and Brian Lucey.
A new EP of remixes of the track "La grenouille" called "Pink Frog" has been released on 24th November.
They are now working on a last EP of covers featuring this time a lot of new artists:
Thibault Signovert (keyboards), Alexander Müller (piano, guitar) and Raphaël Mas ( piano, percussion, virtual instruments),Nat (vocals) and Brokys (keyboards).
Indie Moon is also a "visual" project composed of Julie Scolbetzine (costumes) Jean-Marc Gourdon (photographer , video maker), and Stéphane Courcy di Rosa (video maker).
